- Relay Emergency valves with a ratio feature are considered beneficial when harder than normal stops are required. During hard stops, the ratio feature activates for less than 1/100 of a second so that the valve delivers air quicker than normal to the brake chambers. During normal stops, the ratio feature does not operate.
- Do not use ratio feature valves on converter dollies, trailer turn/steer axles or lift axles.
