Trailers equipped with
spring brakes generally use two distinct pneumatic systems to perform required
brake functions. The Service side of the system operates the brake shoes in
response to the drivers use of the foot or hand valve. The Supply side fills
the reservoirs and handles parking and emergency functions.
The
following pages describe the Supply side and basic spring brake system
operation. |
